Musk's departure comes one day after he criticized the centerpiece of Trump’s legislative agenda, saying he was “disappointed” by the president's budget bill.

President Trump celebrated Elon Musk, the billionaire who slashed through government agencies and who is stepping away from his official role.

After months in Washington, the billionaire tech founder has scaled back his government duties and will be focusing on future endeavors.
