A flash flood warning was released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 11:31 p.m. in effect until Saturday at 2:30 a.m. for Lawrence County.
Severe thunderstorms could bring large hail, tornadoes, high winds and lighting to swaths of the Eastern Plains, according to the National Weather Service.
"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, heavy rain is still possible with this thunderstorm," says the NWS Raleigh NC. The warning is in effect until 7:45 p.m.
