Markets Look Set To Break Away From Their Rally, Sensex, Nifty Begin Trading In Red
The Sensex took a hit of over 50 points and slipped under 81,600 as of 9:01 AM, while the Nifty fell close to 40 points and stood below 24,950 in the pre-open session.
Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty extended their winning streak to a fifth session Wednesday, lifted by IT shares, as investors looked ahead to the Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole symposium later this week.
At close, the BSE Sensex was up 142.87 points, or 0.17 per cent, at 82,000.71. Nifty50 advanced 33.20 points, or 0.13 per cent, to settle at 25,083.75.
