Two major wildfires in California and Oregon force mass evacuations as firefighters battle blazes amid dangerous heat conditions.

Pickett Fire, which began on Aug. 21, has spread to more than 6,800 acres through Napa County, just east of Santa Rosa, as of Aug. 25. The fire is 13% contained, and its cause remains under investigation, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire).
