Rohit Sharma on Sunday won his second ICC title - following the ICC Men's T20 World Cup win last year - as India closed an invincible Champions Trophy 2025 campaign in Dubai. There were talks around the Indian skipper’s retirement from the ODI format, however, Rohit quashed them in the press conference following the final win against New Zealand.

Australian pace bowler, Mitchell Starc, who did not feature in the Champions Trophy, revealed that he did not quite track the tournament. He also offered his take on whether the current Indian unit was the "best white-ball team ever".

Speaking to the ICC Review, Ponting suggested that Rohit likely has a specific goal in mind for not announcing his ODI retirement after the tournament. He noted that when a player is batting as well as Rohit did in the final, retirement shouldn’t be an option.

Under Rohit Sharma, India has dominated ICC competitions, winning the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup without losing a match.
