Traffic officials with the Maryland Highway Administration say a crash closed both east and westbound lanes of the highway at Interstate 81 (Exit 26). Maryland Department of Transportation cameras show what appears to be a large wind turbine blade stretching across the median, and blocking both eastbound and westbound lanes.

A tractor trailer was towing the turbine blade westbound on Interstate 70 in Washington County in western Maryland at around 5:30 a.m. when the blade struck a guardrail and fell from the trailer, toppling across the median and blocking eastbound lanes, according to Fox News.
