Jasson Domínguez delivered in the clutch, ending the game with a solo blast off Luke Jackson with one out in the ninth inning.
The Yankees hadn’t hit a walk-off home run since Giancarlo Stanton’s game-winning grand slam against the Pirates in September of 2022, the same night Aaron Judge hit his 60th home run of the season. That streak ended in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night.
Instead, for the Yankees captain, this was more of a personal moment. Judge waited until after the on-field scrum to give Dominguez a long, quiet hug. Then, along with Anthony Volpe, he d renched the rookie during his postgame interview with a cooler full of water.

It’s the center fielder’s job to take charge on balls in the gap, especially in a big spot. That’s why Cody Bellinger had every right to call Jasson Domínguez off in the Yankees’ outfield on Francisco’s Lindor’s go-ahead sacrifice fly in the ninth inning on Saturday afternoon.
But more importantly, it was a teaching moment for Dominguez too.
