Jay Monahan is leaving the PGA Tour next year after a decade that ends with a sport fractured by the Saudi riches of LIV Golf. He turns it over to top NFL executive Brian Rolapp.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan will step down after nine years in the role when his contract ends in 2026. Brian Rolapp has been appointed as the tour's first chief executive and will gradually take over Monahan's day-to-day responsibilities.

The fourth commissioner in PGA Tour history, Monahan will be remembered for being in charge during the advent of the rival LIV Golf league, which backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, poached some of the biggest stars in the game like Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.
