A day after the Congress alleged serious and grave inconsistencies in the data relating to the polling and counting processes for the recently concluded Assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Election Commission (EC) on Saturday assured the party to address all its "legitimate" concerns.

In a letter written to Congress lawyer Omar Hoda, Secretary Mr. SK Das thanked the Congress party for bringing the issues to the commission’s notice.

Election Commission reiterated that the process was transparent with the involvement of candidates or their agents at every stage.
