Border czar Tom Homan plans to increase ICE agents in sanctuary cities like New York, following a shooting by undocumented individuals.

The Justice Department on Thursday announced a lawsuit against New York City’s so-called sanctuary city policies, days after the Trump administration blamed those policies for the shooting of an off-duty US Customs and Border Protection officer in Manhattan.

The Trump administration is suing New York City over its “sanctuary city” policies. Officials argue the policies obstruct immigration law enforcement and contributed to the recent shooting of a U.S.

Adams is facing fierce resistance from the City Council as members seek to stop him from expanding the role of federal immigration agents in the city.
