Bryan Kohberger appeared expressionless as a judge asked if he murdered four Idaho college students in their off-campus home, answering “yes” to each name called out in the courtroom Wednesday.

Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty Wednesday to killing four University of Idaho students in 2022. Kohberger will spend the rest of his life in prison as part of a plea deal that avoids the death penalty.

Kohberger, who was a criminal justice graduate student at nearby Washington State University, admitted to the killings before entering a formal guilty plea.
