San Antonio police apologized Thursday for their “premature” statement declaring there was no evidence of a hate crime in the murder of Jonathan Joss.

The San Antonio police walked back their previous statement that there was "no evidence" to suggest that Joss' killing was a hate crime

Joss died at the age of 59 in a shooting outside of the San Antonio home where he was raised, according to multiple reports.
