The San Francisco Giants are fighting for their playoff hopes, and after recently acquiring third baseman Rafael Devers from the Boston Red Sox, there are no more excuses.

The Red Sox front office and ownership have proven that they're willing to spend money, but not having to pay Devers the remaining $250 million of his contract certainly plays a factor here.
