Free agent Pete Alonso will return to the New York Mets and the fire his agent, Scott Boras, for failing to deliver on promises, a WFAN radio host predicts.

The New York Mets have multiple players who call Scott Boras their agent. But according to one New York radio host, there is one to blame for Pete Alonso’s free agency stalemate.

The Mets and Pete Alonso cannot come to terms on a standard contract, so maybe it is time for them to do something creative that could be a win-win.

A source said MLB agents have recently been informed they cannot contact Pete Alonso. This would have to be initiated by Alonso himself. Evidently, Alonso wants to continue working with his agent Scott Boras without hearing from other agents looking to poach him.

Just before Mets owner Steve Cohen answered a question about where things stand with Alonso, a homegrown star and free agent first baseman, during a panel discussion, a spirited crowd began chanting, “Let’s Sign Pete! Let’s sign Pete! Let’s sign Pete!”
