A newly-named storm, named Conall, is forecast to bring heavy rain to southern England and Wales, hitting communities still cleaning up from Storm Bert. The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for rainfall in several southern areas of the UK from 22:00 GMT on Tuesday until midday on Wednesday.

Storm Conall, the third storm of the season, has landed in the UK with torrential rain – with two weeks worth of rain recorded in some areas. The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for spells of heavy rain which is likely to cause delays on roads,

Storm Conall has reared its head, bringing it with heavy downpours as the Met Office issues a double weather rain alert with 255 flood warnings. The third named storm of the season could bring up to 50mm of rain to much of southern England today.

The storm is forecast to track east during Tuesday night and into Wednesday, but will not be at its worst until it has passed through the UK
