League heads to Las Vegas as Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers take on Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Cooper Flagg strolled into UNLV’s Thomas and Mack Center at 4:17 p.m. on Thursday, wearing Dallas Mavericks gear, bright white New Balance shoes, and an emotionless look on his face as he passed through security.
Flagg's fans had plenty of energy, electrifying the jam-packed arena that went cheered loudest when he was announced as a starter.
No. 3 pick V.J. Edgecombe and No. 2 pick Dylan Harper expected to face off at Thomas & Mack Center at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.
RayJ Dennis scored 26 points and posted nine assists and Quenton Jackson scored 24 points to help the Pacers rally back from down 16 to beat the Cavs.
The NBA’s Vegas Summer League kicks off Thursday with a schedule that features No. 1 overall draft pick Cooper Flagg’s NBA debut for the Dallas Mavericks against the Los Angeles Lakers.
League is getting a lot of attention this year, and to say fans are excited for one particular matchup would be an understatement. Cooper Flagg, the 2025 No. 1 overall pick, is making his summer league debut with the Dallas Mavericks as they face Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers in a game that's making history before it even begins.
The Pacers trailed by as many as 16 points, but rallied behind Quenton Jackson (24 points) and RayJ Dennis (26 points) to steal a 116-115 win.
The Minnesota Timberwolves had high hopes when they selected Joan Beringer 17th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft -- and boy, did the 18-year-old Frenchman deliver. Although the 6-foot-11 center just started playing basketball four years ago,
Harper became the highest Scarlet Knight ever taken in the NBA Draft when he was picked second by the Spurs. He averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game for Rutgers in his only season in Piscataway. He shot 48.4% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point line.
Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, will be playing in the summer league for the second consecutive season. So will Jameer Nelson Jr., the son of former NBA point guard Jameer Nelson. He will be on San Antonio's summer league roster.
