This was a tough loss for the Tide, and has SEC title game ramifications. Alabama got beat by a team that was fast, physical, and opportunistic Saturday. Brent Venables' football IQ was on full display in the game. Alabama's season and playoff hopes are not over though.
Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables was on cloud nine after beating Alabama football for the second straight year on Saturday. As Venables spoke to media outside of the visitor’s locker room in Tuscaloosa, with the smell of cigar smoke perfuming the air, he praised his team’s effort and toughness in the 23-21 victory.
After a home loss to Oklahoma Saturday, Nov. 15, Alabama football remains firmly in the College Football Playoff hunt.

Alabama's AP Poll ranking revealed following Week 12 loss vs. Oklahoma
Alabama saw a significant drop in Sunday's latest AP Poll Top 25 following a 23-21 home loss to Oklahoma in Week 12.
Tied with Oklahoma at No. 10 in last week's rankings, Texas moved back eight spots to No. 18 after falling at Georgia, 35-10. The Longhorns trailed 14-10 after the third quarter before the Bulldogs ran away in the final frame with two touchdown passes and a touchdown rush from quarterback Gunner Stockton.
After a 23-21 upset of Alabama on the road, Oklahoma has leapfrogged the Crimson Tide in the latest AP Top 25 poll.
