Samsung’s previous-generation 980 Pro SSD also received a firmware update for an unrelated reliability issue in January. Note this is from January 2022, there's no newer 980 Pro firmware.

Computer builder Puget Systems reports that some customers are contacting it complaining about failing Samsung drives. The problem appears isolated to the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD.
