Amid the outcry over Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash's death by suicide over alleged harassment by his wife, Nikita Singhania, details have emerged of a complaint filed by her in 2022, alleging harassment and assault for dowry.

A 34-year-old engineer died by suicide in Bengaluru on December 9 allegedly due to harassment by his estranged wife and her family. A case of abetment to suicide has been filed against Nikita Singhania and her family members.

The Karnataka Police arrested Nisha Singhania, Atul's mother-in-law and brother-in-law Anurag Singhania on Thursday night. Atul's wife Nikita Singhania is absconding and police have launched a hunt for her, sources stated on Friday.

The notice did not mention other members of her family, including her mother and brother, Nisha Singhania and Anurag Singhania, or her uncle Sushil Singhania even though the FIR mentioned their names.

As Nikita’s house in Jaunpur is locked and none of her family members are there, the Bengaluru Police served a notice asking the accused to attend the probe.

A team from Bengaluru police was dispatched to Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday to trace the accused in the techie's suicide case.
