The Cram Fire exploded to 28,000 acres on July 15, shut down Highway 97 north of Madras and has degraded air quality in central Oregon.

BEND, Ore. (KATU) — Driven by extreme fire behavior, the Cram Fire exploded to 64,295 acres on Tuesday, fire officials at the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center (NWCC) said Wednesday morning. The fire remains uncontained.
