Liverpool are hoping to get a deal over the line for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz, in what could end up being a British record deal. A new offer was submitted on Friday night worth £113million, though the Bundesliga side are still holding out for a fee closer to £126m.

Arsenal had been targeting Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia but he instead looks set to join Barcelona. Kepa has also spent time on loan at Real Madrid since signing for Chelsea, and has played 163 times for the Blues in all competitions.
