Bright stars, Blood Moon lunar eclipse: March skywatching highlights
The total lunar eclipse will start late on the night of March 13 and will end in the early hours of March 14, according to NASA. An eclipse like this happens when the Moon, Earth and Sun all align so that the Moon is passing into the Earth’s shadow.
On March 13-14, 2025, skywatchers in the Americas will witness a total lunar eclipse that mirrors one Christopher Columbus is said to have used to his advantage over five centuries ago.
For the first time in nearly three years, the lunar eclipse will be visible to North America, overnight Thursday into Friday. Can you see it in PA?
