ESPN's Shams Charania first reported Wednesday that the Knicks were set to hire Brown as the replacement for Tom Thibodeau. On Saturday, SNY's Ian Begley reported that Brown and the Knicks agreed to a four-year, $40 million deal.

After a lengthy search, the New York Knicks are reportedly hiring Mike Brown to be their next head coach. Brown will replace Tom Thibodeau, who was fired in June despite leading the Knicks to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in 25 years.

Brown will take over a roster that advanced to the Eastern Conference finals last year before falling to the Pacers in six games, and the Knicks, at this stage of the offseason, appear on track to return most of their core from 2024-25.
