Maine champion Bonny Eagle scored six runs in the fourth inning to overcome an early deficit and beat Cranston Western of Rhode Island, 8-3, in the Little League Softball New England Region Tournament on Wednesday morning in Bristol, Connecticut.

Guilford Little League Majors Softball (ages 10-12) has advanced to the New England Regional semifinals after defeating Massachusetts 13-2 on Monday in Bristol. It only took four innings for the Connecticut representative to take down Massachusetts thanks to an eight-run fourth inning that brought the tournament mercy rule into effect.
