Tropical activity in the Atlantic is ramping up as the National Hurricane Center starts monitoring three tropical waves.

The first hurricane of the East Pacific hurricane season formed off the coast of southwestern Mexico on Monday, according to the National Hurricane Center. While the Atlantic remains calm for now, Hurricane Barbara and Tropical Storm Cosmo are currently affecting the eastern Pacific.
