STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Memorial Day is a holiday on which the nation honors those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. In some cases, that appreciation comes in the form of patriotic parades, which can result in road closures. A Memorial Day service at the Cicero Cemetery, 8554 Brewerton Road precedes the parade at 10:30 a.m. Parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Brewerton Road and end at the American Legion on Legionnaire Drive. There will be a memorial service at the Legion monument followed by a lunch.
