Gabriel Bonfim (18-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) outworked Thompson (17-9-1 MMA, 12-9-1 UFC) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and after the fight, "Wonderboy" posted a short video on social media – on crutches – showing his shin wrapped and saying that it was "split to the bone."

Stephen Thompson has given an update on his nasty shin injury suffered during his UFC Nashville loss against Gabriel Bonfim.

Thompson released a statement via Twitter following the bout, saying that his shin was “split to the bone” requiring stitches. “Well, got to get back, heal my shin up, maybe do some more shin conditioning, but love you guys,” Thompson said at the end of the video.
