Although Will & Harper won plenty of hearts, it failed to secure an Oscar nomination. Following the success of his and fellow SNL alum Harper Steele‘s Netflix documentary, Will Ferrell jokingly called out The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for snubbing their film.

The documentary follows Ferrell and his longtime friend Harper Steele, who embark on a cross-country road trip together following Steele coming out as a trans woman.

Will Ferrell gave the proverbial middle finger to the Oscars. The “Anchorman” actor, 57, joked about the Academy snubbing his inspiring documentary, “Will & Harper,” from the 2025 nominations list. “Ask me if we got Oscar-nominated,” Ferrell said to Stephen Colbert on a recent episode of “The Late Show.”
