Donald Trump shook hands with Mike Pence at Jimmy Carter's state funeral -- a notable exchange as the two men have not interacted publicly in years.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Former President Jimmy Carter is being honored with a state funeral Thursday in Washington, D.C. All five living current and former presidents were in attendance, but only four first ladies. Former first lady Michelle Obama did not join her husband, former president Barack Obama, at the ceremony.

Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th US president in an indoor ceremony at the US Capitol, attended by notable global and business leaders. Mike Pence and the Clintons faced boos from the crowd, while CEOs of major companies had better seats than Trump's Cabinet.

The handshake happened almost four years to the day when Trump supporters called for Pence's execution during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
