Signing Atlanta United have brought back club legend Miguel Almirón, announcing Thursday they've acquired the star midfielder from English Premier League side Newcastle United.

Atlanta United has completed the signing of Miguel Almiron from Newcastle United. The Athletic reported on January 15 the MLS side had tabled a bid worth £11million ($13.5m) for the 30-year-old Paraguayan who will return to Atlanta six years after he left the club to join Newcastle.

The now-former Newcastle United man is not the first high-profile MLS export to return to the league with fuel still in the tank.
