Eklund leads the Sharks in points (46) and assists (33) while being third in goals (13). Toffoli leads the Sharks in goals (24) and third in points (43). Celebrini is second on the Sharks in points (45) and goals (19) while being tied for second in assists (26).

Tuesday concluded a back-to-back set for both teams, as the Sharks played Monday night in Toronto. Further, it marked the fifth game in eight days for the Sabres, and Ruff detected some fatigue from his team as it yielded frequent scoring opportunities to the speedy, young San Jose lineup.

Celebrini’s goal at the 12:02 mark of the third period came 63 seconds after Thompson scored to cut the Sharks lead to 3-2. Celebrini used Buffalo defenseman Bowen Byram as a screen in snapping a shot from the top of the right circle inside the far left post.
