East Contender Pursued Trade for Jazz's Walker Kessler
Walker Kessler had a go-ahead dunk with 9.7 seconds left to help the Utah Jazz beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 117-116, snapping a six-game losing streak in the series.
The real story of this battle was in its finish, however. Utah held a flimsy seven-point cushion heading into the final minutes and blinked as the T-Wolves took the lead on a 10-to-2 run with just over a minute to play.
Sexton finished Friday's 117-116 win over Minnesota with 13 points (5-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound and three assists in 17 minutes. Sexton was given the green light to play Friday after missing Utah's last 10 games due to a left ankle sprain.
Utah comes into a matchup with Toronto after losing 10 straight road games. Friday's matchup is the first this season for the teams.
Collin Sexton will miss his seventh straight game due to the ankle injury he suffered in early February. It appears that he’s ramping his way back towards a return soon though. In his absence, the Jazz have leaned upon youngsters Isaiah Collier and Keyonte George to fill his void.
Yet, the Jazz will have some reinforcements in the lineup to bank on as center Walker Kessler is ... John Collins, and Collin Sexton, but as for Kessler, he looks ready to go.
