Two people killed in a plane crash near a Colorado airport last weekend have been identified. The Beechcraft 95 crashed shortly after takeoff from the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield on Saturday Authorities said the pilot told the tower they would need to land the aircraft and that the door to the aircraft was open.
“Any runway you need. Any runway. You are cleared to land,” Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport’s tower reportedly told the pilot. After repeating the announcement three times, another pilot is heard telling the tower that the plane had crashed.

The plane caught fire after it crashed in a field near Midway Boulevard and Brainard Drive, according to North Metro Fire.
Aurora officers responded to the crash near the intersection of East Quincy Avenue and South Uravan Street just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the police department.
