The urgent search for the missing continues following a holiday weekend deluge that killed at least 82 people including children at summer camps.

According to local authorities, at least 109 people died on July 4 and 5, most of which were swept up in floodwaters from campgrounds along the Guadalupe River. That’s just shy of the 118 deaths reported as a result of Hurricane Rita in 2005.
Kerr County officials said Wednesday that their priority is to continue to search for missing people and get families closure as recovery efforts continue across Hill Country following the deadly floods.
