WASHINGTON STATE — As of 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, the tsunami advisory for Washington and much of the western U.S. coast has been canceled. A tsunami advisory remains in effect for parts of coastal Alaska, Hawaii, and two areas of California.

The tsunami threat caused by a massive earthquake near Russia has passed, according to the Washington Emergency Management Department.
