Another round of showers and storms is likely as we head into our Thursday bringing periods of heavy rain and frequent lightning.

Today is a First Alert Weather Day in Western Colorado. The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for over half of the state.

Steamy temps continue out there today through Saturday. Highs are generally mid and upper 80s for many. Scattered showers and storms will be floating around, but a lot of areas miss out. A better threat for showers and storms shows up late this weekend into early next week.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Temperatures will remain above average across Southern Nevada this week, including the Las Vegas Valley, as a strong ridge of high pressure builds over the region. The heat continues through early next week, with highs pushing 110°. The average high this time of year is 104°-105°.

Heat and humidity remain the big story today. Temperatures will climb into the lower to mid-90s and will feel even hotter due to the humidity. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, with scattered to isolated showers and storms developing this afternoon. Winds will be out of the west around 5 mph.

First Alert Weather: Showers and isolated t-storm, mainly north of Hwy 29 for the rest of Tuesday. More showers and storms on Friday. Another round of showers and storms are possible Tuesday afternoon as temperatures hold in the upper 70s to lower 80s for the rest of the day.
