Canadian defenseman Maxime Lajoie, 27, has signed a one-year contract with Avangard Omsk, the KHL club announced on Tuesday.

Coachella Valley Firebirds defenseman Maxime Lajoie signed with Avangard Omsk of the KHL. Lajoie, this season in 70 games for the Firebirds, recorded 38 points on four goals and 34 assists.
