Steve Martin announced on Thursday that his upcoming shows with "Only Murders in the Building" co-star Martin Short for Friday and Saturday have been canceled due to the wildfires still raging in Los Angeles.

Comedy duo Steve Martin and Martin Short have postponed their performance on Saturday at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood as wildfires continue to tear through homes and other property in the Los Angeles area.

The actors cancelled their show in the Tampa Bay area amid devastating wildfires burning out of control in Southern California.

The duo was scheduled to perform in Florida this weekend but were affected by the Palisades Fire in California.

“Everyone is alive,” said the veteran comic’s caption. “But there is devastation.” As of Thursday, at least five separate fires continued to rage through the area in and around L.A., with a death toll standing at five. More than 100,000 people have been ordered to evacuate, and hundreds of structures have been destroyed.

No doubt less serious than the situation on the ground on the other side of the country, the fires are affecting the entertainment landscape in South Florida. "Unfortunately, due to the devastating fires in California,
