Drake is suing his record label for spreading a “false and malicious narrative” when it released and promoted Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.”

Drake is battling his own record label over a song that is the lynchpin of a now legendary hip-hop feud.

Kendrick Lamar is kicking of 2025 with a bang. The rapper's monumental hit, "Not Like Us," has officially surpassed one billion Spotify streams. Lamar's anthemic track, released in May 2024, marked the end of the highly publicized feud between himself and Drake and became a longstanding hit,

Drake's legal team said Universal Music Group used its resources to "elevate a dangerous and inflammatory message that was designed to assassinate Drake’s character."

The leading hip-hop superstar beef has been cranked up another notch, with Drake suing Universal Music Group for defamation over rival Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.”.

Drake had filed actions against Universal Music Group and Spotify, in which he claimed the two companies had colluded to artificially boost the streaming numbers of Lamar’s song “Not Like Us.” The song was one of several tracks released in a feud between Drake and Lamar.
