SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Former NHL player Joe Pavelski won the American Century Championship on Sunday at Edgewood Tahoe, closing with an eagle to beat former pitcher John Smoltz by nine points in a wire-to-wire victory in the celebrity event.

The American Century Championship is one of the most entertaining golf events of the year, and it has lived up to the hype heading into the final round.

After two out of three rounds at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament, the top of the leaderboard is full of big names. Tied atop the board are San Jose Sharks legend Joe Pavelski and former USMNT forward Taylor Twellman. They each have put up a 44 in the modified stableford scoring system.
