Uber has introduced a water transport service on the picturesque Dal Lake in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, enabling tourists and locals to book rides on the region’s iconic shikaras through its app.

When in Kashmir.....well, now you can book your Uber to travel across Dal Lake. Cab Service Provider, Uber has introduced its first water transport service in India, offering tourists and locals the chance to book shikara rides on the iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar through its digital app.

The service was launched by Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India and South Asia, who booked the inaugural shikara ride via the app.

The Uber Shikara is Asia's first water transport service and follows similar offerings in European cities like Venice.

Uber has launched shikara rides on Dal Lake in Srinagar through its app. The service includes seven shikaras available daily for up to four passengers and can be booked in advance. No commission will be taken from local operators.
