The wreckage of a plane matching the description of one that went missing Thursday afternoon was found on sea ice in Alaska on Friday, the U.S. Coast Guard said. None of the nine passengers or the pilot flying the single-engine turboprop plane.

The United States Coast Guard in Alaska has located an aircraft that "matches the description" of the missing Bering Air flight - and say all 10 people on board died. The aircraft went missing on Thursday and the plane "matching" its description was found approximately 34 miles southeast of Nome,

Three people were found inside the aircraft and "reported to be deceased," the U.S. Coast Guard in Alaska said on X. The remaining seven people were also believed to be inside but were "currently inaccessible due to the condition of the plane,
