SpaceX provided a lift for a competitor in the satellite broadband sector with the Falcon 9 launch of spacecraft for Amazon’s Project Kuiper July 16.
An early Sunday morning SpaceX launch marked the 60th orbital mission from the Space Coast from all companies for the year, but also the 500th successful mission for the workhorse Falcon 9 rocket.
Onboard was a batch of 28 Starlink v2-Mini high-speed internet communications satellites headed into low-Earth orbit at an altitude of 279 km, inclined 53.16 degrees. This was the 19th mission into this shell, which saw its first launch just over a year ago, the vast majority of which have launched from this pad.
