At 31-18, they have a 1 1/2-game lead over the New York Mets in the NL East. The team is performing well and is clearly a threat to win a World Series title.
A new report from MLB.com insider Mark Feinsand said that the Phillies reached out to Robertson about a potential return, though no serious talks took place. Aside from 2019, Robertson also pitched for the Phillies in 2022, making 22 appearances with a 2.70 ERA and 1.37 WHIP.

Yardbarker on MSNPhillies Should Reunite With David RobertsonThe Philadelphia Phillies should reunite with David Robertson after José Alvarado received an 80 game suspension and is ineligible for the postseason. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reported on May 19 that the Phillies reached out to Robertson.
Robertson, 40, spent 2024 with the Texas Rangers and appeared in 68 games. He split 2023 between the Mets and Marlins, putting up a combined 3.03 in 62 appearances. After he recorded a 2.05 ERA and 14 saves in 40 appearances for the Mets, the team traded him to Miami while selling their talent at the deadline.
The Philadelphia Phillies are left with a gaping hole in their bullpen following Jose Alvarado’s 80-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment program. How might they fill it?
