Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk Wednesday won a confidence vote 243-210. The result averts early elections while keeping Tusk's pro-EU alliance in place.

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk has won a vote of confidence in his pro-EU government after his political camp narrowly lost the recent presidential election. Some 243 parliamentarians voted in favour of the coalition government, with 210 voting against and no abstentions.

Politicians voted 243-210 in favour of the government in the 460-seat Sejm, the lower house, with supporters rising to applaud Mr Tusk and chant his name. There were no abstention
