With the Crimson Tide not playing Saturday in Atlanta, its campaign has begun for a spot in the 12-team field, even with three losses. UA athletics director Greg Byrne posted a pitch for Alabama online Monday, and on Tuesday, head coach Kalen DeBoer spoke on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show.

Alabama is one of the teams that’ll be just outside of the field come the penultimate rankings tonight for the College Football Playoff. Even so, Kalen DeBoer knows the Tide are one of the best dozen teams in the sport.
