Liberal groups that are challenging President Donald Trump‘s agenda are exploring an expanded use of class action lawsuits now that the Supreme Court has slapped down judges’ reliance on universal injunctions.

In a June 27 ruling, the Supreme Court granted the Trump administration’s request to partially halt nationwide injunctions blocking President Donald Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship for certain people born in the U.

Three days after the Supreme Court said litigants attempting to get court orders broadly blocking President Donald Trump’s policies must do so through class action lawsuits, an administration lawyer said it plans to oppose such legal maneuverings in cases challenging the executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship.
