One restaurant in Silver Spring announced Wednesday that it is closing after nearly 80 years in business. The Original Crisfield Seafood Restaurant posted on social media that it will officially shut its doors on Georgia Avenue on Dec.

Crisfield Seafood opened in 1945 and earlier this year earned a spot on The New York Times list of "The 25 Best Restaurants In D.C."

Crisfield Seafood, a longtime institution in downtown Silver Spring, will close this month after nearly 80 years of operation. According to a Facebook announcement and a Fox 5 report, the restaurant located at 8012 Georgia Ave.
