J.J. Spaun delivered a finish to remember on his way to winning the 2025 US Open. The 34-year-old holed a 64-foot putt on the 18th hole at Oakmont Country Club to win the season's third major with a one-under score.

Spaun surged back after heavy rain delayed play in the final round at Oakmont Country Club, with four birdies on the back nine to win his first major.

The first round of the 2025 U.S. Open lived up to the billing as Oakmont Country Club yielded only 10 rounds under par -- with an average score near 5 over par -- despite ideal conditions on Thursday.

Low scores were incredibly hard to come by in the first round of the 2025 US Open. JJ Spaun dropped the best score of the round from the morning tee times and that stuck for the duration of the day. Spaun turned in a rare bogey-free four-under 66 to take the 18-hole lead.
