Florian Wirtz made his unofficial Liverpool debut in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Stoke City last weekend.

A heavily rearranged Liverpool succumbed to a flurry of top class counter-attacks to lose their pre-season match against AC Milan 4-2.

Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was pressed into duty there alongside captain Virgil van Dijk during the opening 45 minutes against Milan. Then in the second half, after Slot made nine changes at the break, left-back Kostas Tsimikas was the makeshift centre-back with Ibrahima Konate for company.
